    Hi,

    Asterisk (Ver. 1.8.11)
    FreePBX 2.10.0.8
    one SIP trunk
    a couple of extensions
    VDP Pro (trial) 3.3.01

I can not get the “hello world” sample to playback any message.

I have tried replacing the extension number with “_” (not including quotes) on the Start block. I have checked the extensions_vdp.conf file and it appears correct and the audio file is in the /var/lib/asterisk/sounds directory.

I have tried both gsm and wav formats but nothing will make the message play.

I can find no link that points to any download to get the samples used by VDP so haven’t been able to try those.

Any suggestions as to how to get this to work would be appreciated

    Hi there,

The first block in hello-world dial plan is the Extension that will handle that dial plan.
    The extension number is 56781.
This mean you have to dial 56781 to run that dial plan, and to hear hello worlds sound file.
    Did you try calling 56781?

If you want to run that dial plan for all numbers, replace 56781 with “_.”, not only “_”.

    Thanks Mat,

You confirmed that I needed “_.” not just “_” and it know works with gsm/wav files 🙂
