Yup.. UAC was the issue in Windows 7. All I had to is right click the VDP and run as administrator. That took care of the issue.

    Titon,

As much as I can remember there was some issue between VDP and UAC- User Account Control in earlier versions of Visual Dialplan. So, you have 2 alternatives, to disable UAC and then register VDP or to download newer version of Visual Dialplan.

    Thanks for the heads up….
I also found that I was putting in FAR TOO much information.
The actual syntax needed to be:

    $[“${price}”>”0″&$”${statusnum}”=”80″|”90″|”100″|”110″|”120″|”130″|”140″|”150″|”160″|”165″|”170″|”190″|”210″|”280″|”290″|”360″]

    Now it works as expected.

    Cliff.

I think you should use “&” and “|” instead of “and” and “or” as logical operators.

Don’t know why that didn’t copy and paste correctly before – but the begining of my GotoIf block actually reads:

    $[“${price}” > “0” ….

    Amir,

Here is the link where you may find educational movies about Visual Dialplan for Asterisk: http://www.apstel.com/forums/topic/educational-movies-about-visual-dialplan-for-asterisk/

I think you would be especially interested in “How to use conditional branching” movie. This short movie explains how to use GotoIf block and how to branch the callflow based on the GotoIf expression result.

Also, there is an article on this subject:
    http://www.apstel.com/while-loop/how-to-model-elseif-in-asterisk-dial-plan/
    that you may find useful.

You need to handle those scenarios. If caller pick for example option 3 or 4, the call flow will exit on the red (failed) port of the GotoIf component and return back to the Read component.

You should use Say and Read block for this purposes. First, use Say block to repeat the cc number that user entered, then use Read block to collect user input (option 1 or option 2). The sound file for Read block should be something like this:” If this cc number is correct please press one otherwise please press two…Then use GotoIf block to validate user input and to branch the call flow.

    Paolo,

Visual Dialplan does not have integrated func_odbc function but you may still invoke the same by using “Custom code” component. As for the Integration Server and MySQL addon, I know that with Apstel Integration Server you can access all databases such as MS SQL, MySQL, Postgres… and in case you wish to access to MySQL database only, than you will need to use Asterisk-addons package and MySQL VDP components.

Second concurrent call that utilize DB module will fail.

Hello, Raman. Thank you for answering.
    I see.
What will be when second call will attempt to access database while one connection is active?
    Error or wait?

    Mthawk,

I’m not aware of a better/easier way to call odbc_asterisk function from VDP than to use custom component.

As for the Integration Server, the limit is the number of concurrent (simultaneous) calls, i.e. number of channel licenses. It comes with one free license for database, email and payment module.
If you wish to support more that one concurrent call you will need to purchase additional channel licenses.
