Yes, my dial plan version is set to 1.8. I was not under the impression that macro capability was eliminated in that version. I’ll review what I’m trying to accomplish. 1.8 allows templates as well, which maybe I can do as custom code. I’ll see what works best.
I believe the root of the problem you are experiencing is related to the dial plan version. If the dial plan version is greater than 1.4 than Gosub block will be the preferred one as opposed to Macro. You can check the dial plan version by clicking “Dialplan version” button in a Visual Dialplan main window. In addition you may upload VDP file and I will check the dial plan version for you.

I will recreate what I had, and attach it. Do you want the vdp file or the actual extensions.conf that it generates?
gtreece,
I think I know what may be causing this, can you upload dial plan so I could take a look?
Bernard
I was thinking the same thing for the icon name display at the beginning, but after using the Visual Dialplan for a while I had no more need for it.
So, I think this option is really good especially for Visual Dialplan newbies. Could you explain your idea with giving more details maybe..Raman
TolgaGUL,
I’m not sure it will work that way. Did you make some tests?
Starting from Asterisk 1.6 Read component sets a READSTATUS variable on exit. It does NOT automatically return -1 (and hangup) anymore on error.
As I see the best solution here is to upgrade the Asterisk server to 1.6 version..Bernard
Hi,
I upgrade my dailplan version 1.4 to 1.6 and red port on Read component appeared.
But I have a question, Asterist server version 1.4 Does this create any problem?Hi Bernard,
Thanks for your answer. But there is no red port on Read component. My version is 1.4
How can I solve this problem?TolgaGUL,
You may use red/Read failed port from the Read component to handle missing voice file exception.

I think you need MusicOnHold component. This component has duration parameter which allows specifying timeout in seconds.
Hi,
You may wont to use Background component. This component plays a sound file while waiting for DTMF input. Using this component you can easily create IVR menus ( “ask if the calle accept caller call or if he want to reject it”).
romerjm,
The issue is probably linked with UAC (User Account Control) if you are using Windows 7 or Vista.
To resolve the issue you need to disable or turn off UAC entirely.Check this link: http://www.petri.co.il/disable-uac-in-windows-7.htm
understood, but what about verifying that the phone number is correct? does my 3 gotoif statements make sense? the problem is that even though you can set a max of digits, i don’t know were to set the minimum. so i can’t stop people from making mistakes and imput a number that is shorter than 10 digits, or they start the number with 1. and then they don’t have enough space to fit their last. the numbers in the US are 1-xxx-Xxx-xxxx.
I’m not sure if i understood the question well.
If you wont to set timeout or hung up after 3 tries you can use loops. Create loop that count attempts and after 3 attempts simply hung up or set pause or set anything you need. Thanks for a workaround. cool 🙂
