July 29th 2007

VOIP IP Telephony, by ravenll

“I have now seen the light. After Daily Asterisk News directed me to the Apstel’s Visual Dial Plan, I am feeling better about creating and using dial plans.”

“I downloaded the application, which is in beta and I have not registered yet. But the trial version is so promising that I wonder if we need to call it a beta.”

“Of course I did not have time to go through all the variables of the program but I intent to do so. But I did go through the provided sample applications and so far I did not have to use help!, which is also very extensive, just by looking at it.”

Visual Dialplan, the graphical dial plan editor for Asterisk

July 25th 2007

Panoramisk.com, by Alexandre Chauvin-Hameau

“Configuring an Asterisk server can be cumbersome for some administrators not used to unix and text file format. There are some solutions to ease this configuration process, mainly on integrated solution where a web interface is proposed. Apstel is currently proposing another solution which is interesting: « Visual Dialplan » since it is mainly based on a graphical view of the call plan.”

“In a nutshell, this product is a really good way to configure the Asterisk dial plan. This is an excellent way to increase adherence to Asterisk solution and enhance the ecosystem. The level is now higher on Asterisk with regards to configuration than on other proprietary solutions available on the market, this is an excellent point. Give it a try, it is a good tool.”
